Since the release day have been revealed, NBA 2K17 gamers are looking forward to its new features. Obviously, NBA 2K17 Games has the licenses for several colleges. According to this point, we might be seeing some new teams in NBA 2K17. 2KTV’s Rachel Demita visited 2K headquarters to know more about the new features that we can expect to see in NBA 2K17. She managed to talk with Scott O’ Gallagher who is the gameplay producer for the NBA 2K series. Gallagher revealed that there are three new retro teams that will be in the game.
There are only allowed to reveal three teams that will be in NBA 2K17. First, the ’99-’00 Toronto Raptors team will be added. This is when Vince Carter was in his prime. Another popular team in the game is the 2008 Boston Celtics. This team was stacked with Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and a young Rajon Rondo. Lastly, the Los Angeles Lakers from 2001 will be in the game. This is when Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’ Neal were dominant.
Free agency is just about here, and despite teams preparing for this for years, no one knows what is about to happen. This is always a crazy time of year, but with the salary cap ballooning to $94 million, almost everybody is going to have a ton of money to spend. Spacing. Spacing. Spacing. – I don’t know what it is, but the court in this year’s game feels small. Whenever you feed the ball into the post, the perimeter defenders are instantly there and steal the ball from the post. On the contrary, whenever you kick it out to a wide opener shooter, it feels like the defender immediately recovers and contests the shot.
The spacing needs to be better in 2K17, so you can actually use the post. Adding college teams to the MyPlayer mode will make it more realistic. Your player will have to look good in college and then get drafted like it happens in real life. It’s worth mentioning teams might be included, but licensing issues may not mean college players will be in NBA 2K16.
However, college basketball is one area the NBA 2K series has never explored. They’ve added teams from the past and some from the European league in the past couple of years. This year’s game could be a small step to adding actual college teams and players. The Season 2 Finale of NBA 2KTV aired this week and some small new features were announced for the upcoming NBA 2K17 video game. Some of these features have been included in past video games. Ability to catch to steals – I know I’m not the only one. You read a pass perfectly and jump it to steal the ball. Your players jump in front of the pass and instead of catching it, your player tips it out of bounds and it’s still the opposing team’s ball. I stated this in last year’s wishlist and was saddened to know that it was back in this year’s game. These are professional athletes. They should be able to steal passes. Moreover, there are a lot of fans who want to see Green in the cover art of “NBA 2k17.” In fact, after 2K Sports made the reveal of Irving’s addition to the cover.
